VA Sheriffs Join Gun Rights Rally in Richmond
Several VA sheriffs showed support for pro-gun rights advocates who protested Monday at Richmond's Virginia Capitol building.
Grayson County Sheriff Richard Vaughan has been expressing his opposition to the new gun control legislation that is being debated in the Virginia state legislature dominated by Democrats. Grayson said, "If the bills pass as drafted, they will not be enacted," Vaughan said. It's unconstitutional.
Sheriff Vaughan's statements mirror that of most of America's law enforcers. In our poll just a few weeks ago of over 900 police officers, 100% supported the second amendment.
“We support upholding the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of Virginia. That’s what we will do,” Vaughan continued.
Grayson County is one of many counties in Virginia that has adopted a resolution calling for a ' Second Amendment Sanctuary ' to stop implementation of new gun control laws introduced at the state level. as of Dec. 18, 86 of Virginia's 95 counties had adopted the sanctuary legislation and many other cities and towns had taken their own steps in response to the proposed new gun laws.
